Our experienced team have been involved in the completion of some familiar and well known local commercial fit-outs which you may recognise
Harley Davidson - Feilding
Gary Worsley MCs refurbished their premises in 2018 as part of an upgrade to become Feilding’s Harley Davidson Dealership.
MPP Ltd were please to be able to supply and install a 2-way suspended ceiling, installing a Black Armstrong 2-way ceiling grid fitted with Black Armstrong Optra Lay-In ceiling tiles, supplied by Comfortech, all installed to a seismic design to ensure building compliance.
MWRC Project - Te Ao Nui
Te Ao Nui is one of MPP’s biggest project to date. The three-story building which stands in Palmerston North’s Victoria Avenue is now the home of Inland Revenue’s Palmerston North Department, Civil Defence and Objective.
For 20 months we worked with McMillan and Lockwood and W&W Construction in Victoria Ave to bring to life the interior of one of the Manawatu’s largest building projects of 2019/2020. Tasked with the fitting of internal steel framing, aluminium partitioning and suspended ceilings throughout the three-floor building, the project is now complete.
Arena 2 - Fly Palmy Arena
A few of our contractors can recall working on Palmerston North’s Arena 2 when it was known as Rainbow Stadium back in the mid 1970’s, which at the time was Australasia’s largest structure of its kind. Recently we were tasked with installing a new suspended ceiling to replace the original 3600m2 tiled ceiling. Our men spent around 7000 hours replacing ceiling grid and installing some 4000 tiles in two stages over a 20-month period, often working in challenging conditions. The project was completed in February 2021.
Instant Finance - Princess Street, Palmerston North
We worked with Auckland commercial office concept design company Focusplan to help with the fit-out of what was to be the new home of the Palmerston North branch of Instant Finance.
This involved preparation of existing walls with a plaster finish, steel stud wall framing to form new offices, fitting aluminum door frames and partitioning, including doors and their hardware, and coordinating the installation of glass to partitioning.
The Toolshed, Rangitikei Street, Palmerston North
We were tasked with repairing and extending existing ceiling grid after a recent expansion to the store at The Toolshed in Rangitikei Street.
The ceiling design was seismically engineered to include bracing and expansion joints which will enable the ceiling to withstand movement in large earthquakes which the Manawatu may experience at some stage in the future.
We were able to work with the client to ensure the store stayed open and operational while works were ongoing.
At this stage the client has chosen to keep the existing tiles in the old grid, but may look at updating those at a later date.
Amayjen, 22 Victoria Ave, Palmerston North
Feilding’s finest restaurant has moved to Palmerston North and we were excited to work with the team at Smith & Son Manawatu to bring Amayjen to life in its newly designed Victoria Ave premises.
The designer has gone with two ceiling options within the restaurant and bar – GIB® Plasterboard suspended on a RONDO KEYLOCK® Concealed Ceiling System, as well as opting for a 600x600mm black aluminium suspended ceiling grid with high-acoustic black ceiling tile.
We supplied and installed Fenta Hygiene tiles to the kitchen ceiling area as their washable finish makes them perfect for the area, being resistant to chemicals, steam and general soiling
The Potter Interior Systems supplied Austratus Fin system compliments the dining area of the restaurant as a feature ceiling.
40 Victoria Ave - Celtic and Youm
We demolished the interior at 40 Victoria Ave over the Christmas period of 2022 to completely replace the existing 2-way ceilings and partitioning. This involved a rebuild of the 2-way ceiling grid, installing new partitioning to match existing, and securing the new and existing glazed partitions to the building structure by way of Tracklok ceiling braces and bridging within the plenum.
The client opted for Phonic Absorb ceiling tiles which offer superior in acoustics and double as an insulator, being 35mm thick.
The result is a pleasant modern space in which the client can be confident will be compliant and practical for many years to come.
Newtech Bathroomware
As Newtech Bathroomware looked to bring their production operation back onshore they set about constructing a large warehouse and accompanying offices in Whanganui. MPP Ltd was approached by Newtech to assist with the fit out of the office and cafeteria based on architecturally designed concepts presented to us.
MPP Ltd assisted with installation of ceilings, walls and partitioning, and structural bracing elements when it came to installation of feature bulkheads and timber fins. We were able to offer practical advice around how to construct feature ceilings and walls and make Newtech’s vision a reality.
With a mix of materials sourced from different suppliers such as black and white Rondo DONN ceiling grid, black and white Asona Triton tiles, Cube drop in tiles and acoustic timber-look bulkhead from Autex, Herodesign feature tiles. We created office spaces using Potters Aluminium Partitioning suites powder coated black to tie in with office features.
Poleshed
An out of the box project for MPP Ltd – a 4 bay pole shed erected for a client in rural Manawatu.
The client secured plans and a kit from local building supplier Central ITM and MPP set to work with construction.
If you are interested in a pole shed enquire with MPP to see how we can work with you
Cartown - JFK Drive Palmerston North
MPP worked with Cartown to renovate the old Ezibuy premises on JFK Drive in Palmerston North. We demolished a large portion of the existing ceiling grid while walls were removed, then reinstated ceilings to a seismic design. Some existing ceiling grid remained in place and was fixed and floated, while existing ceiling tiles were repurposed into the new grid. New anodised aluminium doors and partitioning where installed to form new office spaces. The result is a stunning new showroom for Cartown in Palmerston North
